Arsenal are prepared to offer Viktor Gyokeres a contract and salary reminiscent of some of their recent signings ahead of a potential move.
According to Give Me Sport, Arsenala are prepared to offer Viktor Gyokeres a bumper contract that pays out £240,000 per week. The 26-year-old is seemingly seen on the same lines as some of the club’s influential stars like Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, with the salary package reflective of being the Gunners’ starting striker ahead of next season.
Arsenal could make a big splash this summer on key positions, with a new striker firmly at the top of their agenda. Over the last few months, particularly since sporting director Andrea Berta’s arrival, the club have ramped up their plans to bring in that new No.9, and it appears they have settled on Viktor Gyokeres to be that man.
Benjamin Sesko was watched in action alongside other rivals, although it is Gyokeres who seems like their first choice. Before that, there were heavy links to Alexander Isak, although Newcastle United’s asking price might prove prohibitive not only to Arsenal but for other rivals like Liverpool, which could see the Swede stay put for at least another season.
Berta has been championing for Gyokeres, and it appears that Arsenal are now seen as the favourites to land the 26-year-old in the summer. There are claims that he’s ‘the best striker in the world’ and Gyokeres has the goalscoring numbers to back that claim, as all eyes will now be on the Gunners if they can make this happen.
Gyokeres has his heart set on a move to Arsenal are per a report, as this will be a good transfer to upgrade his career and make a return to England. The Swede is probably the player Mikel Arteta’s side were missing all season, as the Gunners are also thinking about a lucrative deal for the striker.
Arsenal readying bumper contract for Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal are readying a big contract proposal to agree terms with the 26-year-old. The Gunners are reportedly willing to fork out £240,000-a-week wages to lure Gyokeres. That salary is seemingly in line with some of the influential stars at the Emirates such as Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, but probably lower to other names like Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
The report states those terms may not prove to be a problem for Gyokeres to accept a move to the Emirates. Moreover, Arsenal could also benefit from Sporting CP’s decision to lower the 26-year-old asking price, as they have indicated a willingness to accept a fee well below his £85 million release clause.
