Martin Odegaard set to push Sverre Nypan to join Arsenal

Arsenal offer €47 million to sign Chelsea target Riccardo Calafiori, told to pay more.

Martin Odegaard is encouraging his compatriot Sverre Nypan to join Arsenal rather than rivals Manchester United.

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard is working hard to convince Sverre Nypan to join him at the North London club. He is trying to convince the teenage midfield sensation to choose Arsenal ahead of rivals Manchester United.

Nypan joined Rosenborg at the start of 2021. His exceptional abilities helped him break into the first team in 2022. The 18-year-old who can feature in any role in midfield as well as a number nine when needed has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Norwegian club.

He has featured in a total of 60 matches for them and has contributed towards 24 goals. His exceptional performances and massive potential have attracted a lot of interest. Manchester United and Arsenal are two Premier League giants who want to sign the teenager.

English giants battle for Nypan

Both clubs are constantly on the lookout for young stars who can help them in the long run and Nypan fits the bill. United started the month as favourites to win the race for his services. The player had previously suggested that he dreams of playing at Old Trafford.

Everything suggested that Ruben Amorim’s team would win the race for his signature as they had been monitoring him for a long while. But, things haven’t gone according to plan as United haven’t made any moves as they have shifted their focus on strengthening the team in the short-run.

The Red Devils’ indecisiveness could prove costly as Arsenal are pushing hard to win the race for his signature. Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of the 18-year-old and wants him in his team at all costs. They are all set to use Martin Odegaard to try and win the race of his signature.

Odegaard to turn the tide in Arsenal’s favour

Nypan has reached out to his compatriot for some key advice ahead of choosing the next step in his career. He is looking to understand the environment at Arsenal and the road to their first team. Odegaard could play a massive part in helping the Gunners secure his services. He is trying to convince Nypan to join the North London club instead of United.

While the Red Devils were initially leading the race for his signature, Arsenal have become a more tempting option for him of late. Both Premier League clubs are closely monitoring the player’s situation who will soon make a decision on his future. Rosenborg will look to a fee of around £10 million to part ways with the teenager and the player’s wage demands are not expected to be a problem for either club.
