Tottenham scouting Anis Hadj Moussa ahead of potential move

Tottenham are monitoring the progress made by Anis Hadj Moussa ahead of a potential move either now or in the summer.

According to Football Insider, Anis Hadj Moussa is a target for Tottenham as the north Londoners are reportedly scouting the Algerian international. The Feyenoord winger has impressed this season, especially in the Champions League, which has made Liverpool take notice of his talent alongside Spurs.

Anis Hadj Moussa made headlines this season and fell on the radar of some of the top Premier League sides following a solid performance in the Champions League. The Algerian international was deemed the man of the match in a solid comeback draw against Manchester City at the Etihad.

Liverpool have been interested since, and while it was Arne Slot who reportedly green-lit his initial move in the summer at Feyenoord, the pursuit might seem natural. The Reds are not in a hurry to recruit a right winger at this moment, although things might change in the coming period.

Of late, there have been fresh murmurs about Mohamed Salah’s future at the club, as Arne Slot could return to his former side for one of their players. Liverpool are thought to be stepping up their chase of Moussa, although no move is expected this month, and might be a case for next summer.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have entered the race for Moussa, as they have had scouts watching the player regularly playing for Feyenoord. Ange Postecoglou currently has a defensive crisis but not that much in the attacking lineup, meaning they, too, could look to make a move for the 22-year-old Liverpool target next summer as opposed to January.

Will Anis Hadj Moussa join Tottenham?

There’s no immediate need for Feyenoord to worry about the prospect of losing Moussa this month, as this might be something they would need to do in the summer. The 22-year-old does have a good following at the current moment and might have to choose if the interest from Tottenham or Liverpool remains after the current season.

Tottenham are currently well stocked on the right wing with Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski, meaning Moussa will have to challenge for a place in Postecoglou’s side. As for Liverpool, they are expected to bring a big replacement for Salah should he depart, which does open the opportunity for a player like Moussa to come in as a second-choice starter and have an open chance of staking a claim for a starting berth.
