Manchester United and West Ham United have been linked with a move for 24-year-old LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David.
According to a report by Give Me Sport, Manchester United and West Ham United could be offered the chance to sign Jonathan David in a cut-price deal. The Canadian internaitonal will be out of contract in the summer of 2025, and the Ligue 1 outfit are under pressure to sell him for a knockdown price this month instead of losing him for free in the summer.
Manchester United could certainly use the quality forward and would be an exceptional acquisition for them. The striker is at the peak of his powers and he could transform them in the attack. Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee has been quite underwhelming and Manchester United need an upgrade on the Dutch International striker.
Jonathan David certainly seems like the ideal fit for them, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. He has started the season well, and he has 22 goal contributions in all competitions. David has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football and he will look to make an instant impact at Old Trafford if the move goes through.
West Ham linked with David
West Ham need to sign a quality striker as well and have been linked with Jonathan David. They have looked toothless in the attack this season and they have not been able to find the back of the net consistently. They signed Niclas Fullkrug at the start of the season, but the German has struggled with injury problems. They need a younger alternative with more quality and David seems like the ideal option.
The Canadian forward will be tempted to move to the Premier League and it remains to be seen where he ends up. The opportunity to join a club like Manchester United will certainly be a more attractive proposition for him. Although they are going through a period of rebuilding, they have a quality squad and a top-quality manager at their disposal. They have the resources to sign quality players as well. Manchester United could provide him with the platform to push for major trophies in the coming seasons.
