Liverpool abandon move for Milos Kerkez, Manchester United front-runners

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez in recent months.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have now cooled their interest in the £40 million-plus rated Premier League defender and Manchester United are now the front-runners to secure his signature.

The Hungarian left-back has established himself as a key player for the Cherries and his performances have been quite impressive in the Premier League. There is no doubt that he is good enough to play for a big club and Manchester United could certainly use a player of his quality.

Luke Shaw has struggled with persistent injury problems and Manchester United need to bring in a quality left back. Signing a proven Premier League performer would be a wise decision and they should look to get a deal for Kerkez across the line.

The Hungarian will look to compete at a high level and push for major trophies regularly. Manchester United could provide him with that platform. They have a talented squad and a quality manager at their disposal. They have the resources to sign quality players and they could be challenging for major trophies soon.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United follow up on their interest with an offer to sign the player. They have the financial muscle to get the deal across the line.

Liverpool abandoning their move for the player will certainly come as a major boost for them and the Red Devils will look to secure his signature quickly.

Liverpool need a new left-back

Meanwhile, Liverpool need to sign a quality left-back as well. Andrew Robertson has been quite mediocre at this season and he will need to be replaced. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can bring in the right reinforcements in the coming months.

Robertson has been quite vulnerable defensively this season and he has cost Liverpool at times. They need to improve in that area of the pitch if they want to compete for major trophies. The Scottish International has been a key player for the club over the years, but he is clearly on the decline.
