Yasin Ozcan set to complete €8 million January move to Aston Villa

Yasin Ozcan is all set to join Aston Villa in January as they have an agreement in place with Kasimpasa worth €8 million.

According to a report from Fanatik, Aston Villa have struck a deal worth €8 million to acquire the services of Turkish defensive sensation Yasin Ozcan. The young centre-back is all set to make the move to the Premier League in January.

Ozcan got promoted to Kasimpasa’s first team in the summer of 2022, and he has only gone from strength to strength since. The teenage defender already has 76 first-team appearances, and he has even contributed towards eight goals.

While the youngster prefers playing in the heart of the defence, the 18-year-old is capable enough to feature out wide on the left flank. In the ongoing season, he has been involved in all 16 of their league games and has been a rock at the back.

His performances over the last two seasons had put him on the radar of multiple top clubs in Turkey as well as overseas. While there was no shortage of interest in the services of the young centre-back, whose contract at the Turkish club runs until the summer of 2029, Aston Villa seems to have won the race.

Ozcan is expected to be heading to the Premier League at the turn of the calendar. Unai Emery is keen on adding more depth to his backline and he feels the teenager could be a great signing for the long run. With Diego Carlos’s future uncertain, he could be an ideal replacement signing.

The Spanish manager loves working with versatile stars, and the 18-year-old seems to be a perfect fit for his team. Aston Villa already have an agreement in place with Kasimpasa as they have agreed to pay €8 million for the services of the youngster.

With both parties reaching a common ground, and the player also keen on the move, he is expected to be in England during the first week of January to undergo his medical with his new club. Once medical checks are taken care of, Villa could announce their first signing of 2025.
