Manchester United ready to block Harry Amass exit

Manchester United have no interest in selling talented left-back Harry Amass to Aston Villa, as they highly rate the player.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United view Harry Amass as a key player for their future and will refuse to entertain the prospect of selling him in January or beyond. The teenager has been considered one of the talented young prodigies at the club, and Aston Villa are exploring a way to sign him.

Many teenagers are increasingly looking for a pathway into the first team at Premier League sides, as many have chosen to leave their respective sides. The most recent example is Chido Obi Martin, who was considered a highly-rated prospect by Arsenal. Yet, he chose to join Manchester United, citing pathways to the first team as a big reason.

Manchester United could now find one of their starlets open up to the idea of leaving the club as Harry Amass’s future has come into significant doubt. Having signed a professional contract that ties him down until 2027, the Red Devils are not overly worried about his future, although things with young stars are always unpredictable.

In Amass’s case, the talented young prodigy already has an interest in Aston Villa, as the Midlands side is promising a better pathway to the first team. The teenager already showed glimpses of his talents during pre-season, but former manager Erik ten Hag did not afford him a chance in the first team despite the many injuries to their existing left-backs.

Aston Villa are reportedly willing to pay significantly for the teenager, hoping to tempt Manchester United into a sale. Emery’s side already signed Ian Maatsen from Chelsea in the summer and wishes to add another homegrown star in Amass to their ranks, as the teenager could have a decision on his hands in the future.

Manchester United are set to block Harry Amass exit

Manchester United believe in Amass and consider him an essential player for the future. The teenager could have a bright future here, as new manager Ruben Amorim’s style could be more suited for the full-back. The Portuguese boss likes to use wing-backs in his system rather than traditional full-backs.

So far, Manchester United have used right-backs like Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui in the left-back roles, which has caused concerns for Amass regarding his future. As things stand, the Red Devils have the power to decide the teenager’s future, and they are eager to keep him rather than entertain offers from the likes of Aston Villa.
