Sergio Reguilon wants winter exit from Tottenham as free agent amid Getafe, Sevilla links

Getafe and Sevilla have received a boost in pursuit of Sergio Reguilon as the Tottenham full-back pushes for a winter exit.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Sergio Reguilon has no intentions of continuing at Tottenham beyond the January transfer window. The Spanish full-back wants to part ways with the Premier League outfit in search of regular first-team action, and there is interest in his services from Sevilla and Getafe.

Reguilon has gone way down the pecking order at the North London club. Tottenham wanted to get him off their books in the summer after he had spent the last two seasons out on loan. However, things did not go according to plan.

The 27-year-old defender is not a part of their Premier League or Europa League squads and has not played a single minute of football this season. The Spaniard is behind Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies at Spurs and with his contract running out, it is quite clear that he does not have a future at Tottenham.

Reguilon set to return to Spain

The Spanish international plans to terminate his contract in January and join a new club on a free transfer to get his career back on track. Sevilla are one of the clubs who are interested in signing him. He had an impressive loan spell at the Andalusian club before he made the move to England, and they are looking to once again bet on him.

They value his experience and feel he could significantly bolster their backline. Sevilla will face competition from La Liga rivals Getafe, who are also looking to add more quality to their backline. His arrival will add a lot of quality to the left flank of their defence.

While Reguilon has not had the best of times of late, he has a lot of years left in him and can surely turn things around if he ends up getting regular first-team action. Spurs were looking to raise some funds from his transfer back in the summer, but they are unlikely to stand in his way this time around.

The North London club will most likely let him leave for free as it will make room on their wage bill, allowing them to sign a new player or renew the contract of some of their stars.
