Barcelona are eager to revive their interest in Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian’s availability on a free transfer is a significant factor in the chase.

According to Sport, Barcelona are seriously considering a Bosman move for Mohamed Salah next summer. The Blaugrana had an interest in the Egyptians before. Still, the cost of acquiring the seven-season Liverpool veteran had pushed them back, although his availability on a free transfer next summer is now making things more interesting.

The future of Mohamed Salah becomes a concerning factor for Liverpool fans with each passing week. Last weekend, the Egyptian showed his class in the victory over Brighton, which once again begged the question of the club’s intention to solve his contractual situation.

Salah’s current deal expires in the summer, and despite his public plea earlier in the campaign, Liverpool has not brought out the idea of a new deal yet. The report claims that the Merseysiders are eager to see the Egpytian finish his career at a high level at the club, which is indicative enough of a new contract. Incidentally, the Reds are already looking at favourable replacement options in the market, which tells a different story.

However, some interested parties are already circling, with Saudi sides ready to make a big offer to take the most high-profile Muslim player to the Middle East. Al-Alhli are eager to sign him; some high-profile European sides, including Inter Milan and PSG, are also interested.

PSG boss Luis Enrique would be willing to push for the seven-season Liverpool veteran, meaning Salah will have his choice of clubs in the summer. In any case, staying at Liverpool is also an option, and should he decide to test his career in Spain, Barcelona are reportedly very keen to bring him,

Will Barcelona sign Mohamed Salah?

Barcelona has well-documented financial troubles, yet they continue to see links in reports to some of the most high-profile stars. It’s understood that Joan Laporta wanted Salah earlier, although Liverpool’s asking price and his salary demands scuppered any chance of signing him, as they instead went for Robert Lewandowski.

At 32, Salah shows no signs of slowing down, which has attracted Barcelona. However, they might look to invest in other areas realistically, as they already have a generational talent in Lamine Yamal in Salah’s position. It would be a no-brainer to pay what the Egyptian wants in salaries instead of strengthening other positions of their squad.
