Manchester United keen on Julio Soler

Manchester United are eying a move for Julio Soler ahead of the January window, as Erik ten Hag wants a new left-back.

According to TBR, Manchester United are keen on Argentine left-back Julio Soler ahead of the January window. Erik ten Hag wants a new left-back in his side as he continues to face a challenge with getting either Luke Shaw or Tyrel Malacia fit. The team needs a player in that position.

Julio Soler has made a name for himself in the Argentine league with Lanus and has been a critical star for the side in the top tier. However, there’s significant interest coming his way from England, as Manchester United are looking closely at his talent ahead of the January window.

Soler is a left-back with talents that would suit a team like Manchester United, which needs to improve in that position at the moment. Erik Ten Hag has not had a recognised left-back for a long time, and the use of Lisandro Martinez in one of the recent games is the closest he has had to a left-footed player there.

Luke Shaw and Tyrel Malacia have had persistent injury troubles over the last season or so, and there’s still no clarity on their returns. Even if one of them comes through in recent weeks, there’s no guarantee they will stay fit for the longer term, as there are chances they could have further problems.

Meanwhile, the £13 million-rated defender Soler could be a choice for Manchester United to consider, with Liverpool also interested in the left-back. The Red Devils hope to beat their arch-rivals for the defender, although they have other targets in mind ahead of the January window.

Manchester United looking for a new left-back

Soler might not be a big name in the transfer market, but indeed a promising talent that some of the top clubs are looking closely at. On Manchester United’s list, there are some big names present, with reports suggesting they are willing to go all out for Alphonso Davies

They are also looking at Miguel Gutirrez, with the Girona man likely to attract significant interest from many clubs. Either way, Manchester United are looking for a top left back in the coming months, and they will likely make a move for one in the January window.
