Tottenham plan for Pedro Porro revealed after Real Madrid interest

Tottenham are eager to open contract talks for Real Madrid target Pedro Porro after the Spaniard’s recent rise in performances.

According to TBR, Tottenham are ready to open contract talks with Pedro Porro to ward off interest from elsewhere. Real Madrid could threaten to sign the right-back amid his recent rise in stature, as they are exploring solutions to replace Dani Carvajal for now and in the long term.

Pedro Porro has been one of Tottenham’s most important players under Ange Postecoglou’s reign. The Australian’s setup and use of the 25-year-old full-back have reaped the rewards, with the Spaniard featuring in a unique role that allows him to be influential.

Despite being overlooked for the Spanish national side, the recent international break saw the Spurs man replace the injured Dani Carvajal. He performed admirably in both of Spain’s games, and it does look like they have found a solution for the knackered Real Madrid man for the foreseeable future.

As Porro continues to rise in stature, Real Madrid has been looking at him as a potential replacement for Carvajal. There have been reports that the Spanish giants will bring a new right-back in January, but whether that will be a full-time replacement for Carvajal in the form of star-like Porro remains to be seen, although their primary target for the position is Trent Alexander-Arnold

They are considering numerous possibilities if they cannot sign Alexander-Arnold, and Porro is one of those. Tottenham’s asking price could be a roadblock for Real Madrid in their efforts to sign the 25-year-old, but should they come in with a reasonable offer, it will be difficult for the player to turn it down.

Tottenham ready to offer Pedro Porro a new contract

Porro’s current deal expires in 2028, which does allow Spurs some room in negotiations and even make the player unavailable for a transfer if they deem it that way. However, Tottenham are ready to recognise the 25-year-old’s recent rise, as they are prepared to open talks over a new contract.

Any new agreement will see a rapid increase to his current salary, although things may not be as simple for Spurs. The idea of joining Real Madrid and returning to his homeland would be too hard to turn down for Porro, as a serious approach might change his current stance towards the north Londoners, something the supporters will hope is not the case.
