According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are looking to reinforce the left-back position and they are looking at Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies as a top target for the next summer transfer window.
Davies made a name for himself while playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer. He was a huge prospect and multiple top clubs were keen on signing him. Bayern struck a deal for his services at the start of 2019.
Since making the move to Germany, the 23-year-old full-back has only gone from strength to strength. From being someone who used to play in the attacking half he has gone on to establish himself as one of the best full-backs in the game.
He is an integral part of the Bayern Munich first-team but his long-term future is not certain. His contract runs out at the end of the season and he could end up leaving the German giants as a free agent. Currently, he is not in talks with the club over a new deal but that possibility hasn’t been ruled out yet.
