Everton are reportedly closely monitoring Sunderland’s teenage midfield sensation Chris Rigg ahead of a potential transfer.

According to a report from The Sun, Everton are interested in the services of Chris Rigg and they are all set to battle it out with other interested clubs for the signature of the teenage sensation.

Rigg’s sensational rise at Sunderland

Rigg has come up the ranks at Sunderland. He was promoted to their first team last summer and despite being just 17, he has already featured in 32 matches for their senior team.

He had an impressive debut season for the senior team. While he only had a limited amount of game time last season, he managed to impress one and all with his abilities on the ball and his work rate in general.

While he prefers playing as a central midfielder, the English youth international can even feature in an attacking role when needed. Rigg has made an impressive start to the new season with a goal in his seven outings.

His contract with the Black Cats runs until the summer of 2027 but he might not be around for long. There is a significant amount of interest in the services of the teenager who is considered to be a huge prospect.
