Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool are scouting Girona full-back Miguel Gutierrez ahead of a potential move.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Miguel Gutierrez’s consistent performances for Girona have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool are three Premier League clubs keen on signing the Spanish defender and they have been scouting him of late.
Things might not have worked out for Gutierrez at Real Madrid but he has managed to make quite a name for himself since joining Girona in the summer of 2022. He had an impressive debut season and took things to another level last season.
The 23-year-old full-back played an integral role in their dominant run last season as they ended up finishing inside the top four and secured a place in the Champions League. While he still has close to three years left on his deal at the Spanish club, there is interest in his services from elsewhere.
Gutierrez is all set to take the field against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night in what will be Girona’s first-ever outing in the UCL. It will be a special day for the Spanish outfit as well as the former Real Madrid star and there will be quite a few eyes on him in particular.
Premier League giants want to sign Gutierrez
Representatives of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool will be present in the stands of Parc des Princes to watch Gutierrez feature on the left flank. The Gunners do have quite a few players who can feature as a left-sided full-back but Mikel Arteta’s seek is a new face, someone who can add something a bit different and he feels the Spanish international could help their cause.
With Andrew Robertson already 30 and struggling to stay fit for an entire campaign, Arne Slot’s team are also looking to add depth at left-back. Meanwhile, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa also seek more quality in that position and the Spanish manager is believed to be a bid admirer of Gutierrez.
All three clubs will be keeping a close eye on him as they consider making a move when the transfer window reopens in the winter. While he is an integral part of the Girona first team, the Spanish outfit will be willing to sanction his departure for the right price as per the report.
