Fulham agree £30 million deal to re-sign Joachim Andersen

Fulham have reportedly agreed on a £30 million deal to re-sign Crystal Palace’s defensive sensation Joachim Andersen.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Joachim Andersen seems all set to return to his former club Fulham as they have agreed on a £30 million deal to re-sign him from Crystal Palace. The Danish defender is expected to undergo his medical at Craven Cottage in the coming days.

Andersen signed for the Eagles in the summer of 2021 on the back of an impressive loan spell at Fulham. He was on a short loan at the English club from Lyon and managed to impress one and all with his consistent performances in the heart of the defence.

The Dane’s work led to the move to Crystal Palace, and he has not looked back since. He has established himself as one of the mainstays in the Eagles’ defence and has featured in over 110 matches for them. Andersen was one of their standout performers last season and his work has not gone unnoticed.

While there has been significant interest in the services of his defensive partner Marc Guehi, especially from Newcastle United, signing the Danish international seems to be the cheaper option and there has been no shortage of interest in his services.

Fulham are one of the clubs keen on the 28-year-old. The Cottagers have already added Jorge Cuenca to their squad to help them cope with Tosin Adarabioyo’s absence. But they only have three central defenders in their team and want another top star in their squad.

The West London club have been working on a deal to prise Andersen away from Crystal Palace with just two years left on his deal and have finally made some major progress. While their initial offer worth around £20 million was rejected by the Eagles, they have returned with an improved offer, and it has been accepted.

Fulham have agreed on a package worth £30 million to re-sign Anderson, and his new agents have been working hard to complete personal terms details. The Cottagers have already booked a medical for the Danish defender who is expected to be a part of Marco Silva’s project very soon.
