Liverpool agree deal to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili

Liverpool are close to agreeing on a deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili, close to £35 million, as they also formulate a formula to loan him.

According to HITC, Liverpool are inching closer to signing top goalkeeper target Giorgi Mamardashvili, although their original plan has changed. The Merseysiders will pay an all-inclusive fee of close to £35 million, as the player will still join Bournemouth in a separate agreement.

Liverpool to agree on Giorgi Mamardashvili’s fee

Liverpool began pursuing a deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili, an up-and-coming goalkeeper, over the last couple of weeks. The Reds are already thinking about Alisson Becker’s succession plan despite the keeper’s long enough contract at Anfield.

There are strong rumours that Liverpool might consider a massive bid from Saudi Arabia next summer for the Brazilian, although they are keen to foolproof a succession plan right now. Mamardashvili emerged as a target, and as soon as Liverpool registered an interest, the Georgian was keen on the move

Valencia demanded a fee close to £35 million, and after two rejected bids, Liverpool have formulated a way to pay that sum. The two clubs are close to reaching an agreement for the La Liga ace, who has shone in Spain over the last two seasons. He announced himself on the biggest stage at the Euros.

Earlier, Liverpool had plans to sign him but allowed him to join Bournemouth on loan to help him gain experience playing in the Premier League. The keeper had been open to the idea, although a key rule disallows English top-flight clubs to sign a player and allow him to leave on loan to one of their league rivals. This means the Merseysiders have to pivot and devise a new way to execute the plan.

Liverpool formulated Mamardashvili’s plan

Liverpool are close to finding an agreement for Mamardashvili, but they may have to re-route the goalkeeper’s loan move to Bournemouth in a different way. They might have an agreement in place to land the keeper in 2025 and bring the Cherries to the table to agree on a loan fee worth £4 million to sign the Georgian La Liga ace on loan.

With such a mechanism, they will avoid breaching Premier League transfer rules and achieve their objective of signing the keeper and helping him gain English experience. Hence, with this formula, Valencia would have the players on their books, and any agreement with Liverpool would likely be activated only in 2025.
