Liverpool submit an initial offer worth £25.7 million for the services of Valencia shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool are yet to make a signing this summer but they have been quite busy in recent weeks and are expected to bring in a few top-quality players before the end of the window. The Reds are keen on reinforcing the goalkeeping position and according to Super Deporte via Paisley Gates, the Merseyside club have submitted a £25.7 million offer for the signature of Valencia number one Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper joined the Spanish outfit back in 2021 and he has only gone from strength to strength since. He has been one of the standout performances for Valencia in recent seasons and even had an exceptional 2024 with Georgia.
Mamardashvili to replace Becker
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and there is interest in his services from Liverpool. While he still has three years left on his deal, the Spanish club are ready to negotiate his departure. Mamardashvili is currently valued at €45 million (£38.25 million). But, Valencia are willing to do business for €40 million (£34m).
The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best young goalkeepers around and the Reds want him to be their new long-term number one. They see him as a long-term successor for Alisson Becker.
While the Brazilian will continue to be the number one for now, they want to complete the signing of the Georgian international and send him out on loan in the Premier League. Bournemouth could be a potential destination for the goalkeeping sensation.
Liverpool to go all out for Mamardashvili
The Reds are willing to go all out to sign him and have taken the first step towards doing so. They have been in negotiations with Valencia and have submitted the first bid worth €30 million (£25.7 million) along with add-ons. Valencia owner, Peter Lim has no intentions of lowering his demands. While the Merseyside club are not willing to meet his asking price either, they continue talks in hopes of striking a deal.
As per another Super Deporte report, Liverpool have a boost in their pursuit as they have already agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old goalkeeper. He is all set to pen down a long-term team with the Reds and is waiting for both clubs to reach an agreement. While Mamardashvili’s desire to move could put pressure on the Valencia bosses, they are the ones in control with three years left on his deal.
