According to El Chiringuito TV, Liverpool have failed with their opening bid for Giorgi Mamardashvili. Liverpool’s Giorgi Mamardashvili bid turned down

Liverpool fans are beginning to question their club’s foray into the transfer market, and after a night of disappointment, they are in for more regarding a key transfer target. On Monday, it became clear that Martin Zubimendi will not move to Anfield after rejecting the club’s advances to sign him.

Liverpool were also trying for anopther player in Spain, as they had pondered making a bid for Giorgi Mamardashvili. Valencia has repeatedly turned down their opening bid for the goalkeeper as they seek a higher price for the Georgian sensation. The keeper restored his value or increased it with some terrific performances for his country at the Euro, with his club not opposed to the idea of selling him.

Valencia wants at least €40 million to accept any deal for Mamardashvili, as the Reds are expected to return with a fresh bid. The keeper has plenty of potential to become Liverpool’s future No.1, and other clubs are also chasing his signature.

Mamardashvili is open to joining Liverpool but will have to wait another year even if Valencia accepts any future offers. The Merseysiders are keen to allow him to stay at the Metsalla for another season, as they currently have a settled goalkeeper in Alisson Becker. The very fact that they are planning this way brings some source of concern to Liverpool fans in equal measure about the future of their Brazilian stopper.

Liverpool’s transfer plans

The news that the club is chasing a new goalkeeper has baffled a few. Although Mamardashvili is an excellent target, that is not a position of utmost urgency. The Martin Zubimendi rejection has been a blow to Arne Slot’s plans, with further reports of Liverpool not searching for an alternative defensive midfielder creating more scrutiny.

Arnel Slot has a good enough squad and capable players in most areas, but they will need a top-class holding midfielder to mount a title charge. Without one, they could endure a problematic season, especially with their rivals being active in the transfer market.
