Manchester United are set to land priority right-back target Noussair Mazraoui in a €20 million deal and set to sign a long-term contract.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have an agreement in place to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The Moroccan right-back will cost €20 million, including add-ons, and he’s set to sign a long-term deal at Old Trafford.
Manchester United sign Noussair Mazraoui
Manchester United were in the market for a new right-back, and after a thorough search, they landed Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan emerged as their top target, probably at the request of Erik ten Hag, who knows the player well from his days as Ajax boss.
Manchester United hijacked West Ham’s deal for the 26-year-old versatile defender earlier in the window and have now agreed to a €20 million fee, including add-ons, with Bayern Munich. The defender had given his green light a while ago but has been waiting for the Red Devils to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
With West Ham now agreeing a deal for Wan-Bissaka, Manchester United have the green light from the board to bring Mazraoui. The 26-year-old versatile defender will sign a five-year contract with the option of a further year, as the Moroccan is expected to compete for a place in the starting lineup with Diogo Dalot.
His versatile abilities also allow Ten Hag to use Mazraoui at left back, as their current options in that position are dire. Hence, the 26-year-old versatile defender will prove a handful for the Red Devils boss, as he is expected to arrive soon for his medical tests.
Manchester United’s transfer business
So far, Manchester United have had a positive window after brokering numerous deals. Leny Yoro was their most expensive move, with the expected arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and Mazraoui set to cost them over €75 million combined.
They have also brought in Joshua Zirkzee, while Ten Hag would now want a move for a new midfielder in place before the window shuts. There are some outgoings expected at the club, with the likes of Victor Lindelof and Scott McTominay likely to attract considerable bids in the coming period.
