West Ham United have agreed terms with Manchester United for the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but personal terms are yet to be agreed.
According to reputed French journalist Santi Aouna, Manchester United have agreed to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United. Both clubs have an agreement in place, and the Hammers will now look to agree personal terms with the former Crystal Palace star.
After coming up the ranks at Crystal Palace, Wan-Bissaka made the move to Manchester United in the summer of 2019. The Red Devils forked out a significant fee to sign him just 18 months after he was promoted to the Eagles’ first team. While he did have a decent start to life at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old has not been consistent enough in recent seasons.
Manchester United had some serious injury problems at the back last season because of which Aaron Wan-Bissaka did get a significant amount of game time. Despite not being the preferred right-back choice, he was involved in 30 matches as Diogo Dalot was asked to fill in at left-back.
While Wan-Bissaka did a decent job last season, his future has been uncertain for a while now. His contract runs out in the summer of 2025, and Manchester United have been looking to cash in on him. They do not want to lose out on him for free and have already identified a replacement in Noussair Mazraoui.
Wan-Bissaka to join West Ham United?
Mazraoui has already given the green light to a move to Old Trafford, and Manchester United are closing in on the signature of the Bayern Munich full-backs. He is all set to take Wan-Bissaka’s place in the squad with the English right-back expected to join West Ham United in the coming days.
The Hammers want to add more quality to the right-back position, and they feel the Manchester United full-back could be a solid defensive option for them. They have already reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
But there is still a lot of work to be done as the London club are yet to agree personal terms with the player. West Ham will push to agree terms with Wan-Bissaka as soon as possible as they hope to complete the transfer in the coming days.
