Arsenal have informed Inter Milan defensive target Jakub Kiwior that he is free to leave the club this summer.
According to a report from HITC, Arsenal have held talks with Jakub Kiwior and they have informed him that his services are no longer needed. They are ready to sanction his departure and there is significant interest in him from Serie A which seems to be his preferred destination for now.
Kiwior made a name for himself while playing for Spezia Calcio before making the move to Arsenal in the winter of 2023. He has featured in 38 matches for them in the last 18 months and has also contributed towards five goals.
While the majority is his appearances have come as a left-back, he has even done well in the heart of the defence. The 24-year-old Polish international hasn’t done much wrong since joining the Gunners but it seems his time in North London is all set to end.
Kiwior’s time at Arsenal will end soon
There are still four years left on his deal but Mikel Arteta’s team have informed Kiwior that he is free to leave the club. Arsenal have struck a deal with Bologna for the services of Riccardo Calafiori. While they had already done the majority of the work, they were waiting for the Italian club to sort out sell-on clause payment terms with his former club FC Basel.
With that now complete, the Italian international is all set to join Arsenal which means there is no place for Kiwior in their squad. While Calafiori prefers playing in the heart of the defence, he can also feature as a left-back and the Gunners see him as an upgrade.
With Arsenal ready to sanction his departure, there is a significant amount of interest in him. Italian clubs want to bring him back to the Serie A and Inter Milan are the front-runners at this point. They want to reinforce their full-back department and feel Kiwior could be a great addition given his age and versatility. With the North London club ready to sell and the player keen on a move to Italy, Inter have the perfect opportunity.
