Sean Dyche’s Everton are in talks to acquire the services of Napoli attacking sensational Jesper Lindstrom this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of next season. They want to add more firepower to their attack and are interested in having Napoli star Jesper Lindstrom in their squad. The Toffees have opened talks with the Italian giants as they look to strike a deal in the coming weeks.
Lindstrom came up the ranks at Bröndby IF before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2021. He made a name for himself at the German club before securing a move to Napoli last summer. The move to the Italian outfit hasn’t worked out well for the Danish attacking midfielder.
He did feature in 32 matches last season but he was on the pitch for less than 800 minutes. The majority of those appearances were just small cameos towards the end of matches. It wasn’t really a good season for the 24-year-old’s development. In search of regular minutes, he could now look for a move away from Napoli despite having three years left on his deal.
Everton open talks for Lindstrom
While quite a few clubs have been monitoring his situation at the Naples-based club, Everton seem to be the one who are very serious about their interest. They managed to avoid relegation last time out despite being handed a points deduction and to bounce back, they want to make the necessary changes this summer.
The Toffees only have a limited budget and they are looking to make the most out of it. Sean Dyche wants more firepower in attack. He is looking to bring in someone who can create as well as score and Lindstrom is the name on their wishlist.
With the Danish international capable enough to feature as 10 as well as on either flank he could be an exceptional signing for Everton as they lack depth in both areas. They have already opened talks with Napoli for the 24-year-old’s signature and it will be interesting to see how those talks pan out. While the negotiations are underway, Napoli will only sell if they receive a good proposal.
