West Ham United are ready to rival Everton in the race to sign Jackson Tchatchuoua from Hellas Verona in this summer window.

According to Football Insider, West Ham United are ready to rival Everton in pursuit of Jackson Tchatchoua this summer, while Hellas Verona are bracing for offers. The right-back has been a revelation for the Serie A side since his move from Belgium last summer, and he could soon switch to the Premier League amid concrete interest.

West Ham enters Jackson Tchatchoua’s chase

West Ham United are angling for a move for Jackson Tchatchoua this summer, having been impressed by his performances for Hellas Verona last season. The right-back’s game has versatile qualities, as he can play on either side of the midfield if needed, although the Hammers are certainly looking at him as an option at full-back.

Tchatchoua played 26 times for Verona in Serie A and helped the club finish 13th to avoid relegation at the end of the campaign. The Italian club might be bracing for offers and will surely be looking to make a handsome profit on their €3 million investment when they signed him from Belgian side Royal Charleroi SC.

The 22-year-old Serie A defender might be open to the opportunity to play in England, given how he performed in his debut season in Serie A. West Ham are looking for a right back as Ben Johnson is set to join Ipswich on a free transfer, and Tchatchoua will be his direct replacement.

Vladimir Coufal might start the season as their first choice. However, West Ham might view the 22-year-old Serie A defender as a strong competitor for the Czechia right-back. The Hammers have Everton in their way, as they will have to rival the Merseysiders for the signature of the Verona full-back.

Everton are firmly in the race for Tchatchoua

Everton are also interested in the Verona defender, as the Merseysiders might view him as a cover or competition for the likes of Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson. The dup have been inconsistent over the last season, with the former coming to the end of his career.

Everton and West Ham might have to make compelling offers to convince Verona, who have the power in negotiations, considering Tchatchoua still has three years left on his deal. Verona took the option on their loan deal and made the move permanent only at the start of July 2024.
