Marcus Rashford makes decision on Manchester United future

The Mason Greenwood fiasco is a bad look on Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford has decided to stick around to regain the faith of the manager and repair his relationship with the Dutchman.

According to The Sun, Marcus Rashford is not looking to quit Manchester United this summer, as he has decided to stay and fight to improve his performance. The 26-year-old has also vowed to repay his relationship with Erik ten Hag after rumours of a rift with the Dutch manager.

Marcus Rashford staying at Manchester United?

Marcus Rashford is going through what feels like the toughest phase of his footballing career. While he remains on holiday, the 26-year-old forward has already begun thinking about his immediate future and ways to improve his game after an underwhelming season.

In contrast to the 2022-23 campaign, where he scored 30 times in all competitions, he only managed eight in the previous campaign. His overall performances and demeanour also attracted plenty of criticism, as his off-field activities did not help repair that reputation, which appeared to suffer damage as the club’s performances waned as the season progressed.

There were rumours that Manchester United were prepared to sell Rashford for the right price. He remains one of the highest-paid stars at the club, and offloading him would have been a humungous task, although there were some clubs linked, such as PSG and Arsenal.

Manchester United are expected to keep Rashford and plan with him for the new season. In fact, the 26-year-old is keen to restore his reputation and get in form ahead of the new campaign. He wishes to stay at the club and has no plans to leave, as he seeks to bring back to his best self as well as be in the England frame once again after Gareth Southgate did not select him for the Euros.

Rashford aims to repair the relationship with Erik ten Hag

In the midst of the criticisms Rashford received for his off-field activities, there were rumours of a rift with Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager was somewhat disappointed at some of the 26-year-old’s antic at the end of last season and even did not select the forward to start key games.

However, Rashford now aims to repair his relationship with Ten Hag, and he is apparently happy that the Dutchman is staying put at the club. For fans, this might be good news as many still view the 26-year-old as a key character and player for Manchester United.
