Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.
According to Patrick Berger, UEFA Champions League runner-ups Borussia Dortmund are now looking at Newcastle United wonderkid Yankuba Minteh as a potential alternative to Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund on loan during the January transfer window, and he has been outstanding for them. There have been rumours that the German club could look to sign in permanently.
However, Manchester United could look to demand a premium for the Englishman, and Borussia Dortmund could be priced out of a move. Therefore, they are looking at alternatives, and Minteh would be a quality long-term investment.
Newcastle United are under financial pressure right now, and they will need to comply with the financial restrictions. They might need to sell players to bring in their own signings and Minteh is reportedly up for sale.
He has the potential to develop into a top-class player in the near future, and Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on him. There is no doubt that the Newcastle United winger will be a cheaper option compared to Sancho.
Sancho will be desperate to seal Manchester United exit
The 24-year-old Manchester United winger will hope that the two clubs can finalise an agreement soon so that he can end his Old Trafford nightmare. The £73 million move to Manchester United has not worked out, and both parties will be desperate to go their separate ways now.
Sancho has proven that he is a top-class player upon his return to Germany earlier this year, and he will look to continue at Borussia Dortmund and fulfil his tremendous potential in the near future. He does not have a future at Manchester United, and he has fallen out with the manager publicly.
Therefore, leaving the club permanently is the only solution for all parties. Manchester United should look to be reasonable with their demands so that the English winger can return to his former club permanently. Meanwhile, a move to the Bundesliga would be quite exciting for Minteh, and it remains to be seen whether Dortmund can agree on a deal with Newcastle.
