Tottenham Hotspur ready to cash in on Troy Parrott

Tottenham close to securing priority option for future Johnny Cardoso deal.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sanction the departure of their 22-year-old homegrown forward Troy Parrott.

According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have made a decision regarding the future of Troy Parrott. The North London club are ready to cash in on the 22-year-old if they receive an appropriate offer in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Troy Parrott’s time in North London

Parrott joined Tottenham Hotspur back in 2017 and he has gone up the ranks at some pace. The Irish international made his first-team debut back in 2019 but never really managed to cement his place in the first-team squad.

He has only featured in four matches for their senior team. While he was officially promoted to their first team last summer, he failed to earn a place in Ange Postecoglou’s plans and they ended up sending up out on yet another loan.

The 22-year-old joined Dutch side Excelsior on a season-long loan. While he didn’t really have the best of starts to the 2023/24 season, the Irish forward did eventually manage to get going.

He has featured in 21 league games and has contributed towards 10 goals. Parrott became their first-choice striker on the back of his performance but a hamstring injury in March has spoiled the party for him.

Tottenham ready to sell Parrott

Parrott will return to his parent club in the summer but there might not be a place for him in that squad. They are looking for a more prominent striker and have been linked with quite a few top forwards from across Europe. As a result, Spurs are willing to cash in on the 22-year-old if they receive the right offer.

With his contract running out in the summer of 2025, the upcoming window will be the best time for the North London club to raise significant funds from his departure. His performances for the Dutch club have attracted a lot of interest. Clubs from Germany are keen on having him in their ranks. And, they could make a move in the upcoming window. While Spurs are ready to sell, they will only do it if the offer meets their expectations.
