Liverpool and Newcastle United are ready to fork out €30 million to sign 18-year-old Spanish youth international Dean Huijsen.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Liverpool and Newcastle United are both keen on having Dean Huijsen in their ranks. The 18-year-old centre-back has been in sensational form in the second half of the season and it has put him on the radar of top clubs from across Europe.
Huijsen joined Juventus from the Malaga youth academy in the summer of 2021. He went up the ranks and made it to the Italian giants’ first team towards the end of 2023 but has only featured once for them.
The lack of game time resulted in a loan move to AS Roma during the winter break. Since joining them, the defensive sensation has featured in a total of 13 matches and has even contributed towards three goals. His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
While Roma have asked Juventus to extend his loan stint by a year, it might not be that straightforward given the amount of interest in his services. Newcastle United and Liverpool are two clubs keen on his signatures.
Newcastle and Liverpool to offer €30 million for Huijsen
Both the English clubs are in need of defensive reinforcement and they are looking at Huijsen as someone who can help them in the short as well as the long run. The Magpies have had multiple injuries in defence and they are looking to sign a couple of centre-backs in the summer. The 18-year-old is one of their targets.
As far as the Merseyside club are concerned, they need more depth in the centre-back department. They want someone who can feature on the left side of the heart of the defence and since the Juventus sensation can feature on both sides, he does fit the bill for them.
As per the report, both clubs are ready to offer Juventus €30 million to sign the Spanish youth international. While there is no certainty that the Old Lady would accept that offer, it will surely tempt that.
With Juventus struggling financially, they will have to sacrifice a few players to raise funds in order to reinforce their midfield. And, the teenager could be one of the players they look to cash in on.
