Kobbie Mainoo set for Manchester United pay rise

Manchester United are ready to offer their 18-year-old sensation Kobbie Mainoo a bumper new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

According to a report by The Mirror, Manchester United are ready to hand Kobbie Mainoo a sensational new deal. The Red Devils want to reward the teenage sensation because of his impressive performances and secure his services for years to come.

Mainoo’s sensational rise at United

Mainoo has come up the ranks at the Old Trafford club. After making it to their first team in the winter of 2023, the 18-year-old defensive midfielder has now broken into their first team. He has gone from strength to strength since the start of the 2023/24 season and has been a regular feature of late.

Erik ten Hag has started him in the majority of their Premier League games in the recent past. Mainoo has established himself in the centre of the park. His 10th appearance for his childhood club’s first team triggered a new deal that saw his wages go up to £20,000-a-week with his deal now running until 2027.

He has made a total of 22 appearances and has even contributed toward two goals. The England youth international’s dominant performances have forced United to hand him a new deal altogether with improved terms.

A sensational new deal for Mainoo

While there is an option to extend his current deal until 2028, the Red Devils are now looking to offer him a contract that will run until the summer of 2030. They are willing to hand him a 300 per cent pay rise that will see him earn £60,000-a-week.

The new deal will also include a set of clauses that if triggered can further increase his wages. They are willing to make one of their highest-paid players if the teenager continues to progress in a similar fashion.

It could be a great move by the INEOS to secure the long-term future of one of their young stars who has huge potential and can be an integral part of their new project that aims to bring Manchester United back to the top.
