Aston Villa could land Red Bull Salzburg star Oscar Gloukh for around £40-50 million.
Premier League side Aston Villa will need to fork out around £40-50 million to secure the signing of Red Bull Salzburg star Oscar Gloukh. This is according to Football Insider, who claim that the Austrian giants could be ready to cash in on the highly-rated 19-year-old.
Who is Oscar Gloukh?
The Israeli midfielder joined Salzburg from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023 and has already earned rave reviews for his performances. Already a full international for Israel, Gloukh appears to be fast tracked on the road to glory.
Red Bull Salzburg would loathe to lose Gloukh in January. But their exit from the UEFA Champions League in the group stage has done them no favours. With several top clubs from across Europe showing interest, the Austrian giants should have difficulties in holding onto their teenage sensation.
An attacking midfielder, Gloukh is an overwhelming force going forward. With six goals and six assists across all competitions this season, it has been an excellent first 25 games for Salzburg. Still just 19, he has plenty of years to step up his game and take it to a higher level.
Aston Villa Next For Gloukh?
Aston Villa have enjoyed a fine start to the Premier League campaign and are now the surprise package in the title race. Unai Emery’s side have a dynamic frontline but will benefit from the addition of a versatile attacker who can play down the centre. The Philippe Coutinho experiment did not work, while Emiliano Buendia is a long-term absentee. So, it is time that the Villans bring in someone new.
Adding the right player in January will continue to give Emery the push he needs. Liverpool will lose out on the services of Mohamed Salah thanks to AFCON and with a trip to Villa Park yet to come, the Midlands side have a solid pedestal on which to build further this season.
While the Israeli international does the most damage in a No.10 role, he can also operate as a false nine, a centre-midfielder or even out wide. Nicolo Zaniolo has been both a hit and a miss this season. But securing Gloukh will be a coup of sorts for Villa and will future proof the number 10 position for years to come.
