Arsenal tipped to walk away from Joao Palhinha pursuit

Ipswich Town vs Fulham Preview: Probable Lineups, Prediction, Tactics, Team News & Key Stats.

Palhinha is Fulham's most important player.

Fulham’s 28-year-old midfielder star Joao Palhinha is not very high on Mikel Arteta’s priority list at Arsenal.

According to Paul Brown via GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal might be interested in the services of Joao Palhinha but they have higher priorities to focus on. The Gunners have been doing wonders under Mikel Arteta and they are always on the lookout for talents that could bolster their squad.

They have been linked with the Portuguese international who has been a consistent performer for Fulham since joining them back in the summer of 2022. He had an incredible debut season for the club and it resulted in huge interest from across Europe.

Bayern Munich were close to acquiring the services of Palhinha in the summer. The player had landed in Germany and he was all set to be presented as a new Bayern player but unfortunately, the Cottagers couldn’t secure a replacement in time.

The transfer fell off and the player ended up staying at the English club. Post that he has penned down a £80k-a-week deal with the Cottagers that runs until the summer of 2028. However, the interest in his services is at an all-time high and Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks.

The north London club have been linked with the 28-year-old Fulham midfielder. But, Brown believes Arsenal are unlikely to push for his services in the near future. They have already signed Declan Rice in the summer in a big-money move.

The England international has a similar playing style to that of Palhinha and the Hammers don’t really need reinforcement in that area of the pitch. The journalist believes there are other priorities for people at the club. They do need reinforcement in different areas and they are expected to focus on those issues.

The 28-year-old has a sizeable price tag, as a result, Arsenal are unlikely to present a bid for his services. While the Gunners might not push for his services, there are other top clubs that will surely knock on the door of Fulham for his signatures.
