Jurgen Klopp’s ace forward Mohamed Salah has informed Liverpool about his desire to pen down a new deal.

According to François Plateau, Mohamed Salah has made a big decision regarding his future. The 31-year-old forward who has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League since the summer has decided to extend his stay at Liverpool.

Salah joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 after a successful stint at AS Roma. After failing to fire at Chelsea, he managed to revive himself at Roma and secured a move back to the Premier League.

The Egypt international has gone from strength to strength since returning to the English top flight. He has been the leader of the attack for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and has helped them win every major title possible.

The former Roma winger was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League throughout the summer transfer window. Liverpool even received bids for his services but they decided to reject big money offers from the Middle East as the 31-year-old is still an integral part of Klopp’s plans.

While Liverpool managed to keep hold of their star during the summer, reports have suggested the interest still remains. The Merseyside side club had already made it clear that they wouldn’t negotiate his departure in the winter. As a result, clubs from the Middle East wanted to sign him next summer.

But, they are all set to receive a major blow as the 31-year-old is all set to extend his stay at Liverpool. His current deal runs out in the winter of 2025 and with just 12 months left on his contract next summer, it would have been much easier for the Merseyside club to sign him.

However, that won’t be the case as the player wants to pen down a new deal. He wants to sign a new one-year extension. The 31-year-old has already informed Liverpool about his desire.

While the Merseyside club have tried to extend his stay back in the back, the terms didn’t favour the Egyptian and he decided to keep things on hold. The negotiations over the one-year extension are expected to take place towards the end of the season as both parties will look for a solution.
