Liverpool officials fly out to Brazil for Lucas Beraldo talks

Liverpool unwilling to pay Romeo Lavia asking price.

Liverpool representatives travel to Brazil as they look to land 19-year-old Sao Paulo defensive sensation Lucas Beraldo.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are keen on having Lucas Beraldo in their ranks. The Merseyside club are in desperate need of a new defender and they are looking to push for one in the winter transfer window. The 19-year-old Brazilian sensation is on their radar and they have started making moves to land him at the club.

Beraldo has been in Sao Paulo since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and made it to their first team in the summer of 2022. He has featured in a total of 47 matches for the Brazilian club and has also found the back of the net once.

The majority of his appearances have come in the 2023 season as the teenager has slowly established himself as a regular. His impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention and he has been on the radar of Liverpool for quite a few months.

The Merseyside club are looking to incorporate a young defender into their ranks as early as possible. They do not have much depth in the heart of the defence and want to sign a new player. They feel Beraldo could be a great fit for the club.

He has the potential and could go on to be a great player for the English club in the long run. They recently sent their representatives to Brazil as they look to close off a deal as early as possible. The report suggests that a deal could cost around £20 million.

The Reds representatives were in Brazil a week back and their purpose of travel was to meet with the player and convince him about making a move to England. Jurgen Klopp feels the 19-year-old could be a great acquisition and they are pushing as hard as possible to ensure they land him at the club in the winter.

Liverpool do not want to miss out on his services, as a result, they are acting as fast as possible. They are well aware of the fact that if they delay the process other big clubs could come in and they could make life difficult for them.
