Liverpool are looking to acquire the services of 29-year-old Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool are keen on having Piotr Zielinski in their ranks. The 29-year-old midfielder has been one of the mainstays for Napoli over the years. But, with his contract with the Serie A champions running out, there is a lot of interest in his services.
Zielinski joined the Serie A club in the summer of 2016. He has gone from strength to strength after joining the Partenopei. And, over the years, the 29-year-old has featured in close to 350 matches while contributing towards 96 goals.
The Polish international has been a very important player for Napoli. He has been used as an attacking midfielder as well as a central midfielder over the years. While Napoli would love to have him in their ranks for a few more years, they have not been able to tie him down to a new deal.
Zielinski’s contract runs out in the summer of 2024. So, with just over six months left on his deal, clubs are keeping a close eye on the 29-year-old. Juventus and Inter Milan are both keen on having him in their ranks. They are planning to acquire his services as a free agent after the end of the season.
But, they are not the only clubs interested. Liverpool are looking to push for his signatures, and they want to land him at the club in the winter. Jurgen Klopp is well aware of the fact that Liverpool’s midfield overhaul is far from complete.
The Merseyside outfit might have signed multiple midfielders in the summer, but they still have a few more type of players to complete the overhaul. Klopp is a big admirer of Zielinski, and the German manager feels his versatility could be of great use to them. He could easily fit into their high-pressing system.
