Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on acquiring the services of 21-year-old Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.
According to a report by Football Transfers, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on having Amad Diallo in their ranks. The 21-year-old Manchester United winger has been on their radar for quite a few years and the Wolves are looking to bring him to their club in the winter.
Diallo came through the ranks at Atalanta and made quite a name for himself while playing for the Italian club. His impressive performances resulted in interest from United who acquired his services in the winter of 2021 for a fee of €21 million.
The 21-year-old hasn’t had much game time at the club and he has been subject to multiple loan moves. Diallo is currently at United but he has been out injured since the start of the new season. He is expected to return in the near future but might not have any first-team action under Erik ten Hag.
The Dutch manager will look to try him with Under-21s before making a decision on incorporating him into his first team. Meanwhile, they could also look to send him out on loan to Wolves who are interested in the Ivory Coast international.
Wolverhampton Wanderers scouted him back in 2021 during the reign of Nuno Espirito Santo. They were keen on adding him to their ranks but lost out to Manchester United. They made another approach to bring him to their club in 2022 after he returned from a loan spell at Rangers.
The wages of the player became a problem for Wolves and he ended up joining Sunderland. Wolves still remain interested in the 21-year-old and are looking to sign him in the winter. They want to land him at the club on a short loan and have already contracted United over a potential deal.
With Diallo unlikely to have a major role under Ten Hag, they could let him join Wolves. Meanwhile, it will be seen as a valuable addition to Gary O’Neil’s squad as the Ivory Coast international can feature anywhere in attack. He will surely make them more threatening going forward and will also help cover for Pedro Neto who has had injury concerns of late.
