Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly scouting 26-year-old Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson ahead of a potential move.
According to a report by Sos Fanta, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Albert Gudmundsson in their ranks. The 26-year-old Genoa forward has been on their radar for a while now, and they could soon make a move for his services.
Gudmundsson made a name for himself while playing for AZ Alkmaar. He then joined Genoa in the winter of 2022 and has gone from strength to strength at the Serie A club. The 26-year-old has featured in a total of 63 matches and has contributed towards 28 goals.
In the ongoing season, he has eight goal contributions in his 13 outings. It has been an incredible start to the new season for the Iceland international. And, his impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention.
Gudmundsson is a versatile forward who is on the radar of some top clubs. While he prefers playing out wide on the left, the 26-year-old is capable enough to play as a striker as well as a second striker.
While his current contract at the Serie A club runs out in the summer of 2026, Genoa are still planning on extending his stay. They are looking to offer him better terms as a reward for his consistent performances since joining the club.
The Iceland international might be very close to penning down a new deal with the club. But a new deal still won’t affect a possible departure in the summer of 2024. Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on having the 26-year-old at their disposal.
They have sent scouts to watch him in action on multiple occasions. And, Tottenham seem to be very impressed with what they have seen from the Genoa forward. He is versatile in nature and could be a great acquisition for Spurs who are yet to replace star striker Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich in the summer.
