Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are not ready to part ways with their 30-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey amidst an offer from Galatasaray.
According to a report by Fanatik, Galatasaray are keen on having Thomas Partey in their ranks. The Turkish club have been in talks with Arsenal over a potential deal but the English club are not ready to part ways with the 30-year-old. The Gunners have already rejected an offer for his services.
The arrival of Declan Rice in the ongoing transfer window from West Ham United in a big-money move has resulted in a lot of uncertainty around the future of Partey. But, against all odds, the 30-year-old still retains an important role at Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta is keen on having him in his ranks for the 2023/24 season.
Partey joined Arsenal back in October 2020 from Atletico Madrid for a fee of €50 million. He has since gone from strength to strength and has established himself as a regular in the centre of the park for the London club. Last season, he was used in as many as 40 matches. And, despite the arrival of Rice, the 30-year-old has already featured in four matches in the 2023/24 season.
There are still two years left on his deal at Arsenal, and they are keen on keeping him at the club for as long as possible. But, Galatasaray are still pushing for his services. The Turkish club have done a lot of business in the ongoing transfer window. They have sold a few big names but have also ensured they sign some top talent from across Europe.
Despite having signed quite a few players, they are still keen on adding another defensive midfielder to the mix. They wanted to land Thomas Partey at the club and were in talks with Arsenal. But those talks have gone nowhere as the North London club have rejected their bid for his services.
While the player was open to the idea of joining Galatasaray and was looking forward to the offer. The Gunners are not in a mood to let him go with that ease.
