Tottenham keen on Aleksandar Mitrovic

Tottenham close to securing priority option for future Johnny Cardoso deal.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of the 28-year-old Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

According to 90min, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Aleksandar Mitrovic in their ranks. The 28-year-old has been a consistent performer for Fulham over the years and his performances have attracted the attention of the London club who are looking to further bolster their attack.

Spurs’ major headache throughout the summer has been the future of Harry Kane. The England international has been subject to a lot of interest from Bayern Munich. The German giants have been keen on having him in their ranks for a while now.

They have been in talks with the London club over the past few weeks and have already submitted multiple bids. Despite their efforts, Spurs are in no mood to sell Kane whose contract runs out next summer. Bayern will place a fourth bid worth £94.6 million (€110 million) in the coming days for the 30-year-old but even that is likely to be rejected.

Even with Kane likely to continue at Spurs, the club are pushing hard to sign new strikers. They have already added Argentine youth international Alejo Veliz to their ranks and are still looking for another forward.

One of the names on Tottenham’s list is that of Aleksandar Mitrovic. The 28-year-old is looking to part ways with the Cottagers in the ongoing window. Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal were interested in his services and made moves to sign him earlier in the window. But, they failed to meet the demands of Fulham who wanted £50 million for the Serbian international.

Mitrovic joined Fulham back in 2018 and he has been the mainstay of their attack ever since. While he still has three years left on his deal with the club, the 28-year-old is looking for a new challenge elsewhere.

Last season he featured in 24 Premier League matches and ended up scoring 14 goals. The Serbian international has all the qualities and experience needed to succeed at Tottenham. But, it will be interesting to see if Spurs can meet the demands of the Cottagers for their talisman.
