Manchester United ready to part ways with Matej Kovar

Manchester United are ready to offload their 23-year-old goalkeeper Matej Kovar amidst interest from multiple clubs.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are ready to part ways with Matej Kovar. The 23-year-old shot-stopper who has come through the ranks at the club is expected to be on the move in the ongoing window. And, there is a lot of interest in his services.

Yet another Manchester United goalkeeper could leave the club in the ongoing transfer window. David de Gea has already left the club after his contract ran out, and Kovar could also be on his way out.

The Czech goalkeeper joined the Red Devils back in the winter of 2018 from 1. FC Slovacko. He was added to their Under-18 setup and has since come up the ranks. He was promoted to their first team last summer and then sent out on loan to Sparta Prague.

In the 2022/23 season, he featured in a total of 32 matches last season and kept 11 clean sheets. After his impressive loan spell, the 23-year-old has returned to the club but he is not in the plans of Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils have already signed Andre Onana to fill the void left by De Gea and are looking to add Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as a backup.

Kovar is not expected to have a role in the first team next season. As a result, they are ready to negotiate his departure. The Red Devils are also open to the idea of another loan move. But it will depend on the player if he wants to leave permanently or on loan.

While Sparta Prague are also interested in acquiring the 23-year-old Czech youth international, they cannot afford the price tag set by Manchester United. Meanwhile, Hull City and Red Star Belgrade are both keen on having him in their ranks.

The duo are ready to put forward an offer for his services. While Red Star are pushing for a permanent move, Hull City are open to a loan as well. In addition, Aston Villa have also shown interest in signing him.
