The London club struggled throughout last season, they failed to live up to the expectations and end their trophy drought. One of their major concerns last season was their defence. And, their new manager Ange Postecoglou wants to make sure that they resolve the issues before the next season gets underway.
The Australian manager is keen on reinforcement in the centre of the park and has his eyes set on Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson. The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength since making the move to Turkey back in the summer of 2021.
The Danish international has hardly put a foot wrong and has been closely followed by the English club. And, now they are looking to try their best to land him at the club ahead of next season.
The 24-year-old defender’s contract with the club runs until the summer of 2026. However, he is expected to be on the move in the ongoing season given the amount of interest in his services.
Meanwhile, Erden Timur the vice-president of the Turkish club recently met Spurs, one of the clubs who are keen on having Nelsson in their ranks. And, this is where the new proposal has come out of Davinson Sánchez being part of the deal.
Timur is interested in having the 27-year-old at his club’s disposal next season and wants him to be involved in a part exchange that will see Nelsson make the move to London.
However, he is not looking for a player exchange deal, he is looking for a player plus cash deal as they value the Denmark international at around €25 million. And, the final value of the deal is expected to be Sanchez plus cash.
The Colombian international has been inconsistent over the past few seasons and with his contract running out in 12 months time, they might not have an issue letting him leave.
