Manchester United star Fred changes representation amidst exit rumours

According to the reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Brazilian star and Manchester United midfielder Fred has changed agents amidst rumours of him changing clubs this summer.

The South American ace struggled to impress in his early days under Jose Mourinho but has improved his standing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag. However, his double pivot alongside Scott McTominay could be set for an upgrade with both players linked with summer exits.

The arrival of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer has already made life difficult for Fred at Old Trafford. The duo have limited his play time and things are unlikely to get better anytime soon.

The arrival of Mason Mount is likely to add more competition to the midfield this upcoming season. At 30, Fred is not getting any younger and is likely to be a rotational player in the coming months at Old Trafford.

However, he still has enough in the rank to do a first XI job elsewhere. Premier League side Fulham remain keen on his services and could make a move soon. Saudi Arabian teams are also in the fray and could ramp up the transfer fee, much to Manchester United’s joy.

The Brazilian midfield ace’s contract at Old Trafford expires in 2024 and the time is now rife for the Red Devils to cash in. Unless he is sold this summer, they run the risk of losing him to a Bosman a year later.

Fred appears to be prepping himself for a new challenge by changing his agents. He will now be represented by Energy Sports, the same as his fellow Brazilian native and Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus. An agency that deals exclusively with Brazilian players for now, it remains to be seen how his future is impacted by the decision.

Manchester United could do with an upgrade in midfield if they are serious about challenging Manchester City for the title. Unfortunately for Fred, he has gone as far as he can in a red jersey. Where exactly the future will lead him now remains to be seen.
