Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has been linked with a move away from the club but has rejected an approach from Saudi Arabia.

Thiago Alcantara received an offer from a Saudi Arabian club. But the Liverpool midfielder has refused the opportunity to join them and wants to remain at Anfield as per 90min.

Apparently, the 32-year-old midfielder is uninterested in leaving Liverpool this summer, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. Thiago Alcantara is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in the Premier League when he is fit, and he could be an asset for Liverpool next season.

The midfielder has a contract with the club until the summer of 2024 and Liverpool will lose him as a free agent next year. So the emerging interest from Saudi Arabia in the 32-year-old might turn Liverpool’s head.

It remains to be seen whether the Reds are prepared to accept that. They have lost a number of players as free agents in recent seasons. So the Reds might feel that this is the right time for them to cash in on the Spanish international if a quality offer comes their way.

Liverpool have already improved their midfield department with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. Both players are expected to improve them immensely next season. Mac Allister won the World Cup with Argentina last year, and Szoboszlai was outstanding in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, Thiago could be a very useful option to have as Liverpool look to bounce back strongly next term. The Reds missed out on a top-four finish this past season and the need to get back into the UEFA Champions League.

Thiago is a proven performer at the highest level, and his world-class ability to control the tempo of the game and add creativity to the side will certainly take some pressure off the new signings.

Furthermore, with the way players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have performed over the past year, it could be a mistake to sell Thiago without further strengthening the side. It would be ideal if Liverpool managed to convince the 32-year-old midfielder to sign a one-year extension with them and then let him leave next summer for a nominal price.
