Arsenal defender Rob Holding has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

According to journalist Ed Aarons, 27-year-old Arsenal defender Rob Holding could look to leave the club permanently or on a loan deal.

Holding has struggled for regular game time at Arsenal, and it would not be surprising if the Gunners decided to cash in on him. A move away from the North London club would be ideal for him as well.

Holding is at the peak of his career right now, and he needs to play regularly. There is no doubt that he will have plenty of options on his table if he is made available. The 27-year-old has shown his quality in the Premier League, and he could be a useful option for most clubs.

Furthermore, the Arsenal defender is versatile enough to operate as a full-back as well as a central defender. His versatility will be an added bonus for any club that signs him. The defender started just six Premier League games last season, and he will be desperate to play more often.

Holding has the quality to establish himself as a regular starter for a Premier League club, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Arsenal have a number of central defenders at their disposal and they are expected to sign Jurrien Timber from Ajax this summer.

The arrival of the 22-year-old Dutchman will push Holding further down the pecking order. So it makes sense for him to move on this summer. Arsenal have been quite active in the transfer market, and they have signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea. A club record deal to bring Declan Rice to the club is in the works as well.

Arsenal might need to recoup some money in order to balance the books after spending significant sums of money on the two signings selling Holding could bring a substantial amount of money this summer. The defender will be hoping to join a Premier League club this summer and get his career back on track with regular first-team action.
