Tottenham Hotspur are ready to cut their losses on Sergio Reguilon this summer
According to El Confidencial, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sell Spanish full-back Sergio Reguilon in the ongoing 2023 summer transfer window.
The former Real Madrid man joined Spurs in the summer of 2020 following a Europa League-winning campaign with Sevilla that elevated his reputation. However, despite a mixed start to life in north London, Reguilon failed to emerge as a consistent performer for Tottenham.
He was sent out on a season-long loan last summer at Atletico Madrid. Winning over the Rojiblancos faithful was always difficult given his previous allegiance to Real Madrid. An injury-hit campaign that saw him put in some uninspired performances did little to endear himself to fans or even manager Diego Simeone.
Reguilon is now back at Spurs but does not appear to have a future at the club and could be sold for around €30 million. A dynamic full-back capable of performing at both ends of the pitch, the 26-year-old can be a star performer in the right system.

Having fallen out of favour with both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, Ange Postecoglou’s rejection of the player comes as no surprise. A talented player, he is far from refined and questions need to be raised as to why so many Spurs managers have managed to turn their noses up on his availability.
With Destiny Udogie expected to play a role in the Tottenham first team next season, Spurs can afford to be picky when it comes to retaining Reguilon. Selling him for a decent fee would be a win-win indeed, giving them funds that can be reinvested back into the squad.
Much was expected of the Spaniard when he arrived at aN-17 but his stint in north London has proven underwhelming. In the three years since, the 26-year-old has made just 67 appearances, scoring twice and assisting nine more. Surely, an attacking full-back should have put up better numbers.
The time is rife for a revamp and Reguilon is among those set to bite the bullet at Tottenham. It will come as a surprise if the Spaniard will step out onto the field in a Tottenham jersey come the 2023/24 season.
