Manchester United are not confident about their chances of signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane who is on the radar of Real Madrid.

According to Ben Jacobs via CaughtOffside, Manchester United are not optimistic about signing Harry Kane ahead of next season. The 29-year-old forward is a top target for the club but they are not confident about striking a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for his services.

Kane has been a part of the Spurs setup since his childhood days. He has gone up the ranks at the club and established himself as a key figure in the dressing room.

The England international is amongst the best strikers in the world and there are quite a few clubs keen on acquiring his services.

Back in the day, Manchester City tried to prise him away from Spurs and even the player was keen on joining City. However, Spurs stood in his way and the move fell out.

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, quite a few clubs are looking to push for his services in the upcoming transfer window hoping that Tottenham might consider offloading their star striker.

Despite having just two years left on his contract, the 29-year-old is expected to cost over £100 million. But, there is no guarantee that Spurs would sell, even for that price.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are desperate to sign a new striker and Harry Kane is a top priority for the club. While they are willing to break the bank to acquire his services, the Red Devils are not confident about the move happening.

As a result, they have already held talks with the players’ side to see if Kane would push for a move to United if they end up hitting a roadblock. Despite being a top target, they feel he might be beyond their reach.

Jacobs on Kane to United: “Manchester United have purposefully gone to the player side to see what is feasible and understand if Kane will help any transfer, should stumbling blocks be hit, by insisting on the move. Manchester United simply don’t want their time wasted which is why they have moved early.

“There remains low optimism anything will be possible despite him being a top target.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also interested in the 29-year-old. Levy has sold his star players to Los Blancos in the past and he might be open to the idea of letting Kane join the Spanish giants.

However, Madrid are in a tricky situation as they are all set to spend a fortune to acquire the services of Jude Bellingham and might not have the financial power to meet Spurs’ asking price despite being in desperate need of a Karim Benzema replacement.
