Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez is reportedly linked with a move to Inter Milan at the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan are hoping to sign Nacho this summer. They have made their approach to sign the experienced Real Madrid defender, but a move is unlikely to happen before the Champions League final.

The Serie A giants are set to lose players like Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij at the end of the season. So they will have to bring in adequate replacements in the coming weeks. The Nerazzurri have looked vulnerable at the back this season, and they need to strengthen their defence during the summer transfer window.

Nacho, who has been on their radar for a long time, could prove to be a quality short-term acquisition for them. The Real Madrid defender can operate as a centre-back as well as a full-back. His versatility will be an added bonus for Inter Milan next season.

The 33-year-old Spanish defender will be out of contract at the end of this month and he will be able to join the Italian club on a free transfer. Signing a player with his experience and ability on a free transfer could prove to be a major bargain.

Inter Milan will be hoping to challenge for major trophies next season, and the 33-year-old Spaniard will certainly add a lot of winning experience to the squad. The Italian giants have had a mediocre domestic campaign this season. But they have done well in the European competitions.

They are currently in the final of the UEFA Champions League, and it will be interesting to see if they can go all the way in the competition. Meanwhile, Nacho Fernandez has won multiple Champions League titles with Real Madrid, and his experience could prove to be priceless for the Italian club next season.

Nacho has been a squad player for Real Madrid in recent seasons, and he could get more playing time at Inter Milan. The opportunity to join a top club in Italy could be a tempting proposition for the Spanish defender. Serie A has lower intensity compared to La Liga. So a move to Inter Milan could prolong the 33-year-old’s career at this stage.
