Real Madrid are reportedly willing to cough up the €100 million buy-out clause to sign Argentine wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in the future.
According to Defensa Central (via Fichajes), Florentino Perez has expressed a strong interest in signing Alejandro Garnacho. The Real Madrid president would be willing to fork out an impressive sum of €100 million, which is the termination clause, to secure the services of the talented Manchester United prospect.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for the Red Devils under Erik ten Hag this term, making 29 appearances across all competitions, bagging four goals and five assists. The Argentine has demonstrated the ability to get the audience up from their seats with his guile and lightning-quick pace. Having said that, he has missed the previous six weeks of action with an ankle injury.
He has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid for a while now. But he snubbed a move back to the city of his birth to continue his Old Trafford journey, signing a new contract at Manchester United just days ago, keeping the academy graduate at Old Trafford until 2028.
Garnacho’s previous deal was set to expire in 2024. But Manchester United have been locked in talks with the 18-year-old for the past several months over extending his stay after he burst onto the scene with Erik ten Hag’s side.
Manchester United’s intention with this new contract was to fend off any outside interest in their prized asset. But it has done little to deter Los Blancos’ interest in the Argentine sensation. And Florentino Perez is willing to play the waiting game and strike at the right moment by activating the €100 million release clause in Garnacho’s latest deal.
After experiencing success with high-risk, high-potential, expensive young talent acquisitions such as the likes of Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Rodrygo Goes, Real Madrid seem to be preparing for the second wave, having already snapped up Brazilian prodigy Endrick in a big-money deal.
Garnacho has the potential to become a world-class player in the long run as his goal contributions have had a game-changing impact at the highest level, which explains the interest from Real Madrid. And Los Blancos have already done their due diligence in terms of scouting the prodigy thanks to his Madrid roots.

Garnacho initially began life in the youth ranks of Getafe before Atletico Madrid came calling at the age of 11. He was then poached at the age of 16 by Manchester United. For now, Manchester United have locked in the youngster’s imminent future, and his return from injury will be a big boost for them. However, it will be interesting to see whether Real Madrid would break the bank for the exciting teenage prospect down the line.
