Christian Falk has suggested Liverpool are very much in the race for Jude Bellingham and could make an offer if they find a breakthrough.

Christian Falk, via Caught Offside, suggested Liverpool held concrete talks with the father of Jude Bellingham. The Reds are keen on the midfielder ahead of the summer and will make an offer once they can convince his father of a move.

Jude Bellingham could become the biggest story of the summer window as several clubs chase the midfielder’s signature. The Borussia Dortmund star has excelled since signing with the Bundesliga side from Birmingham City. And he is currently one of the best talents in Europe.

The Real Madrid target has many high-profile suitors. But the list remains small, considering the finances involved in signing him. Dortmund could demand as much as €150 million for the midfielder, with only a handful of clubs able to afford that money.

Real Madrid are readying a bumper financial package for Bellingham and could offer a sizeable fee to secure the midfielder. They were considered favourites for a long time and remain confident of closing the deal. However, the biggest worry would come from Liverpool, who are also adamant about the England international.

Liverpool’s financial capabilities always draw question marks, which remains true with the Bellingham chase. The Reds are trying different ways to convince the midfielder and might offer a sizeable sum to tempt Dortmund into a sale.

Bild Journalist Christian Falk has shed light on what might be happening in the background with Liverpool’s chase of Bellingham. He insists the Reds have not made any offer yet, but could make one if they can convince his father first.

Falk claimed Liverpool had held concrete talks with Bellingham’s father, and discussions are underway. He said, “The biggest focus is still on Liverpool. There were rumours of an offer Liverpool made to Dortmund for Jude Bellingham, but I’ve heard that no such offer has reached the club at the moment.”

“But there is a reason – there are very concrete talks between Bellingham’s father, Mark, and Liverpool, but both sides are not together when talking about money at the moment. Liverpool will first make an offer as and when they have an agreement with the midfielder’s father.”

“You see that Bellingham is willing to go to Liverpool, but if another club puts a lot more money on the table, it would be hard to say yes. I think the biggest rival in this race is Manchester City at the moment, as they have the money; they’re a Premier League club and competing for titles. Real Madrid are still behind the two Premier League clubs at the moment.”

“I think the Bellingham family will try to get an agreement with Liverpool but the Reds find themselves somewhat shackled by their finances in comparison to Pep Guardiola’s outfit.”

Manchester City could also push for a move as Pep Guardiola rates the midfielder highly. The offer of Champions League football and the near-guarantees of winning trophies could tempt him tow consider a move to the Etihad. But Liverpool’s interest goes slightly beyond a year, and they have remained in constant touch. Much will depend on how much the Merseysiders offer for the Real Madrid target.
