Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United vying for Khephren Thuram

Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United are all set to battle it out for the services of Khephren Thuram.

According to a report by Jeunes Footeux, several Premier League clubs are keen on acquiring the services of Khephren Thuram. The 22-year-old French international is on the radar of Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United. And the youngster will be available for around €50 million.

Thuram was called up to the French squad for the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers and has recently made his international debut, following in the footsteps of his father Lilian Thuram and brother Marcus Thuram.

The OGC Nice midfielder has had an incredible season so far, and it has not gone unnoticed. A lot of big clubs across Europe are expected to push for his signatures in the summer. The 22-year-old joined Nice in the summer of 2019 after coming through the ranks at AS Monaco.

Thuram has featured in over 120 matches for the French club and has been directly involved in 19 goals since joining them. As far as the ongoing season is concerned, he has 39 appearances and 10 goal contributions in all competitions. He has been the mainstay of the French club in the centre of the park. And, the 22-year-old’s performances have attracted interest from English clubs.

Manchester United, who have been improving a lot under their new manager Erik ten Hag, are keen on having Thuram in their ranks. The Dutch manager wants more depth in his midfield. He is looking to have a cover for Casemiro. And, ten Hag would love to have the Nice midfielder in his ranks as he can eventually take over the defensive midfield role from the Brazilian star.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in Thuram. Jurgen Klopp’s men have struggled in the ongoing season. A lot of it has been because of an inconsistent midfield. The German manager is looking for a complete overhaul in the centre of the park. And, he is keen on having the French international for the central defensive role.

Manchester United and Liverpool will face competition from Newcastle United, the richest club in world football. The Magpies are currently fighting for a top-four finish. They are expected to further bolster their squad in the summer as they look to push for the league title next season.

Eddie Howe is interested in adding a few more names to his midfield. He rates Thuram very highly and would love to have him at his disposal. The 22-year-old is rated around €32 million, but Nice will demand a bigger fee than that given the amount of interest in his services. Thuram could easily end up fetching the French club a fee of over €50 million. As a result, it will be interesting to see who ends up winning the transfer battle for the France international’s services.
