Newcastle United enter the race for the signature of 29-year-old Argentina forward Paulo Dybala.
According to a report by ChronicleLive, Newcastle United are interested in signing Argentine star Paulo Dybala in the summer. Dybala’s future at Roma is uncertain and with a release clause of £10.6 million in his contract departure ahead of next season is possible.
The Magpies are keen on signing the World Cup winner in the summer to take their team to another level. Dybala joined Roma in the summer of 2022 as a free agent after his contract at Juventus expired. He has done wonders on the pitch but his future will depend on where Roma finish in the league.
The Rome-based club are currently fourth in the league with 41 point out in their 22 matches. They are level on points with 3rd-placed Atalanta and 4th-placed AC Milan. While Lazio are just two points behind them at sixth.
The battle for a top-four finish is likely to go down to the wire. As a result, Roma will have to avoid any kind of slip up or else they might miss out on Europe’s premier tournament next season. If Jose Mourinho’s team fail to qualify for the Champions League, the 29-year-old attacker could leave the club.
Dybala on his future: “I don’t know what’ll happen at the end of the season.
“I hope Roma play in the Champions League next year. The clause is between Roma and my representatives.”
In the ongoing season, Dybala has featured in 21 matches and has 18 goal contributions. He has found the back of the net on 11 occasions. He is back at his best and given his current form interest from across Europe is expected.
Meanwhile, the fact that he has a release clause of just £10.6 million has made him a great option for a lot of clubs. Eddie Howe is looking to add more firepower ahead of next season in order to challenge for the Premier League title. He has already done wonders with Newcastle in the ongoing season, thanks to their incredible transfer dealings.
The Magpies are currently fourth in the Premier League and are likely to finish in a Champions League spot. If they manage to secure UCL football for next season, they can persuade Dybala to join them and take the richest club in world football one step closer to their dream project.
Meanwhile, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal have also been interested in the Argentine forward. As a result, it is going to be an interesting transfer tussle between the Premier League clubs to secure the service of the 29-year-old.
