Manchester United reject Inter Milan approach for Victor Lindelof

Manchester United will not consider proposals for Swedish centre-back, Victor Lindelof, amid interest from Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Manchester United have received two offers for Victor Lindelof in the ongoing transfer window. But the Red Devils are not interested in letting him leave. According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan enquired about the services of Victor Lindelof. But Manchester United have turned it down.

Ever since the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Victor Lindelof has fallen down in the pecking order. Even full-back Luke Shaw has been preferred ahead of him to play as a centre-back. But, according to reports, the Manchester United manager counts on him and wants the player at the club.

The Red Devils’ boss is keen on having him at the club because they are the only English club still on the hunt in all four competitions. Lindelof might not be a preferred choice at centre-back, but he might get more minutes in the second half of the season.

The 28-year-old has only featured in six Premier League matches in the ongoing season. The Sweden international has made a total of fifteen appearances in all competitions. But the situation can surely improve.

Milan Skriniar’s contract at Inter Milan expires in the summer of 2023. He has no intentions of renewing his contract at the club. PSG and Tottenham Hotspur have been interested in signing the defender for a while. And the former are reportedly set to sign the Slovak in the summer.

Skriniar will eventually leave the club ahead of the next season. His departure will leave a big void at Inter Milan, and it makes perfect sense that Simone Inzaghi is looking for a possible replacement. He will surely love having Victor Lindelof at his disposal to replace his ace defender.

A few weeks back Atletico Madrid had also enquired about the services of the Swedish defender. But Manchester United’s stance on Lindelof is pretty clear – the club will not accept any loan or permanent deal bid. So Serie A giants Inter Milan will have to wait until the summer to pursue Lindelof.
